True confession of a refill shop owner: I am not zero waste!
Here at To The Brim (aka TTB), we believe that the ability to go completely zero waste is largely unattainable and depends on many factors that are often out of our control such as access to transportation, availability of products, lack of information, and family or health concerns. And, let’s be real, sometimes, the waiter automatically puts the straw in your glass.
We want to meet you where you are in your journey and offer a variety of products with listed ingredients so that you can feel better about the products you are using on and around yourself.

In the past 50 years, humans have consumed more resources than in all previous history.
Nearly three quarters of what we throw away is products; organic materials (food and yard waste) make up the remaining 25%.

A plastic bag can take up to 1,000 years to decompose.
The two main sources of energy used to make plastic bags are oil and natural gas.
Each person throws away approximately four pounds of garbage every day.
Most families throw away about 88 pounds of plastic every year.
The energy we save when we recycle one glass bottle is enough to light a traditional light bulb for four hours.
Approximately only 10 percent of every landfill can be cleaned up.
